Your needs – our solutions
4.30 pm Friday afternoon, Miss Y the 23 year old
daughter of an existing client calls our office to advise that
she is in the car ‘shop’ and wants to drive away in
her new car. |
The car ‘shop’ she referred to was a London
Ferrari dealer at which she had just purchased a Ferrari F430 for £130k
using her switch card. We were able to arrange cover within 20
minutes as the insurers on our panel took into account her driving
history; she had been driving similar cars under her father’s
policy for over a year, and our input concerning the importance
of the client and the granting of cover. |
|
A customer with a collection of twelve exotic cars, including
a Ferrari Enzo and Porsche Carrera GT, was concerned at paying
so much for his cover, via another broker, given that most of the
cars only travelled a few miles each year. |
We obtained a competitive
quotation for the client’s collection of vehicles and arranged
for the insurers to carry out a home visit. The insurers provided
the client with risk management advice and all parties agreed on
terms. We also arranged cover under the same policy for this customer’s
home and his holiday home in Italy where one of the vehicles was
kept for most of the year. |
|
Mr C advised that he was changing his Aston Martin Vanquish
for a Porsche Techart GT Street XL with a value of £140k. |
Insurers were unsure of the specification of this vehicle and we
therefore used our knowledge in explaining that the vehicle is
based on a 911 Turbo but with 530 BHP and 700 NM of torque. We
also explained that the conversion included a 35mm wider body,
19” Techart wheels, lowered Eibach suspension, Techart exhaust,
up-rated brakes and carbon splitters/spoiler. Using this information
the insurers felt better equipped to properly underwrite the risk
and offered competitive terms along with the additional benefit
of an agreed vehicle value. This gave the customer additional peace
of mind as being a very rare vehicle it would be difficult to establish
a market value in the event of the vehicle being written off. |

Mrs W called us to see if we could arrange cover for the house
she had just bought at auction, which had previously suffered from
subsidence |
We established the previous insurer of the property
and approached them, as the existing insurers they agreed to offer
cover for the property without additional terms. |
